A show of all the curtains made by Marina Xenofontos from 2000 to 2022. Carousel was jointly conceived and realized by Xenofontos and curator Maya Tounta.

1/ Curtains made for the guest bedroom / studio in the artist's apartment in Limassol. Used between 2020-2022. Fabric bought from Christakis Themistokleous in Limassol in 2020. Purple taffeta fabric.
2/ Replica of a curtain made for the bedroom in the artist's apartment in Limassol. Original used between 2020-2022. Fabric for the original was bought from George's textiles in Limassol, in 2019. Fabric for Akwa Ibom bought from Karagiannis Fabric Store in Ermou, Athens in 2022. The original was white chiffon velvet fabric and has been replicated in white velvet.
3/ Curtain made for the bedroom in the artist’s apartment in Limassol, as an inner layer to the white velvet curtain. Used between 2020-2022. Fabric bought from Dapperstraat Market in Amsterdam in 2019. Pink velour fabric. Curtain length adjusted for Akwa Ibom.
4/ Curtain made for the bedroom in the artist’s apartment in Limassol, as an inner layer to the white chiffon velvet curtain. Used between 2020-2022. Fabric bought from Christakis Themistokleous fabric store in Limassol in 2020. Floral print velour fabric. Curtain’s facing side modified.
5/ Curtain made for the basement studio of the artist’s parents’ home in Limassol. Fabric bought from IKEA in Nicosia in 2011. Used between 2011-2019. Blue velour fabric.
6/ Curtain made for the basement studio of the artist’s parents’ home in Limassol. Fabric bought from George’s Material Shop in Limassol in 2011. Used between 2011-2019. Memphis silkscreen print cotton blend fabric. Curtain length adjusted.
7/ Curtain made for the basement studio of the artist’s parents’ home in Limassol. Used between 2011-2019. Fabric bought from IKEA in Nicosia in 2011. Blue velour fabric. Curtain’s facing side modified.
8/ Curtain made for Akwa Ibom, previously used as a duvet-cover in the artist’s bedrooms in London, Nicosia, and New York, and the guest bedroom / studio in the artist’s apartment in Limassol. Used between 2010-2012 in London, 2015-2016 in Nicosia, 2016-2018 in New York, and 2020-2022 in Limassol. Fabric bought from Urban Outfitters in New York in 2009. Star print cotton blend duvet cover.
9/ Replica of curtain made with Dakis Panagiotou for a housewarming party for the artist’s apartment in Limassol in 2020. Fabric for the original bought from George’s Material Shop in Limassol in 2020. Fabric for replica bought from Karagiannis Fabric Store in Ermou, Athens in 2022. The original was silver and black polyester fabric and has been replicated in blue polyester with silver UV-blocking polyamide coating fabric.
Every other curtain shipped to Akwa Ibom is stacked.

13/ Guest bedroom / studio in the artist’s apartment. Curtain in the top of the image was made specifically for the skylight, and the red fabric below it was hung temporarily as a replacement for the purple curtains (exhibited hanging) previously hung in its place. Picture taken in 2022.
14/ Bedroom in artist’s apartment. Floral print curtain (exhibited hanging) in the center of the image and the white curtains (replica exhibited hanging) hanging on each of its sides were made specifically for the bedroom. Picture taken in 2021.

Cream canvas fabric was originally used for packaging and then used temporarily to darken the room. White fabric was later made into a curtain (exhibited hanging). Picture taken in 2020.
